Be merciful to me, O Lord, for I am calling on you constantly. Give me happiness, O Lord, for I give myself to you. O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive, so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help. Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord; hear my urgent cry. I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble, and you will answer me. Psalm 86:3-7
Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon. Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:4-7
Prayer really is all about how our relationship with God happens. The psalmist and Paul stress emphatically our need to thoroughly give ourselves up to God in prayer. They make it clear that prayer is the heartbeat of true followers of God. Prayer is where we pour out our hearts out to God and where his presence touches our hearts with restoring love and healing peace.
Lord, we come back to a thought from the beginning of the week and we make it our prayer response to you now. Help us Lord to come before you with all that we are in order to focus on you and all that you are so that you can help us be all you desire us to be. Amen!
