Jesus Christ, the One and Only – Produces Dramatically Changed Lives - Thursday, October 3rd

Oh, what a miserable person I am! Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death? Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord. So, you see how it is: In my mind I really want to obey God’s law, but because of my sinful nature I am a slave to sin. Romans 7:24-25

So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death. The law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature. So, God did what the law could not do. He sent his own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God declared an end to sin’s control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins. He did this so that the just requirement of the law would be fully satisfied for us, who no longer follow our sinful nature but instead follow the Spirit. Romans 8:1-4

Opening his mouth, Peter said: “I most certainly understand now that God is not one to show partiality, but in every nation the man who fears Him and does what is right is welcome to Him. The word which He sent to the sons of Israel, preaching peace through Jesus Christ (He is Lord of all)—you yourselves know the thing which took place throughout all Judea, starting from Galilee, after the baptism which John proclaimed. You know of Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. We are witnesses of all the things He did both in the land of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They also put Him to death by hanging Him on a cross. God raised Him up on the third day and granted that He become visible, not to all the people, but to witnesses who were chosen beforehand by God, that is, to us who ate and drank with Him after He arose from the dead. And He ordered us to preach to the people, and solemnly to testify that this is the One who has been appointed by God as Judge of the living and the dead. Of Him all the prophets bear witness that through His name everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins.” Acts 10:34-43

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him, and have seen Him.” Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.” Jesus said to him, “Have I been so long with you, and yet you have not come to know Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on My own initiative, but the Father abiding in Me does His works. Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me; otherwise believe because of the works themselves.” John 14:6-11

Today's thoughts from today's verses:

Up to now when speaking of the God of Scripture, we have focused on God the Father, and God the Son, but now we include God the Spirit. In belonging to Christ, it is God the Spirit who frees us from the power of sin. God the Father gives us God the Son, who in turn gives us God the Spirit who becomes within us a liberating force to do that which absolutely cannot be done on our own apart from Him. God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – do for us what the law or any “faith” system that the world offers cannot do – produce for us a dramatically changed life free from the penalty and power of sin.

Great passages above that wonderfully describe the uniqueness of Jesus Christ and His miraculous provision for the deepest needs of mankind. I love Peter’s statement, “He ordered us to preach to the people, and solemnly testify that this is the One who has been appointed by God.” Truly, Biblical Christianity is radically different from all other “faith” systems because of Jesus Christ of whom it is said, “this is the One.”

Today's prayer response from today's thoughts:

Lord, I recognize that my life is not as dramatically changed is it could be. I am deeply moved by the extent to which you have gone to make it possible though. I do not want a dramatically changed life to be just a possibility. I want it to be a reality, so I commit myself to cooperate as fully as possible with your indwelling Spirit as I go forward with my new life in Christ. Amen!

Undeniably believe that which you said. Your favorite justification appeared to be on the net the simplest thing to be aware of.

I say to you, I certainly get annoyed while people think about worries that they just do not know about.
You managed to hit the nail upon the top and defined out the whole thing without having side-effects , people can take a
signal. Will likely be back to get more. Thanks
